In the realm of design, where boundaries are often rigidly defined, there emerges a visionary breaking the mold with her unparalleled creativity and versatility. Meet Tassiana Laurre, a trailblazing interior designer who transcends conventional labels to craft captivating spaces, innovative products, and iconic brand identities. With an innate ability to seamlessly blend form and function across diverse mediums, she is not merely designing spaces; she’s crafting immersive experiences that resonate with authenticity and elegance.

“Design, to me, is the harmonious intersection of functionality and aesthetics. Good design has the power to transform not only physical spaces but also the way people experience and interact with their environments. It adds a layer of beauty and efficiency that enhances the quality of life,” explains Tassiana, who studied at the prestigious Strate School of Design in Paris, and Italy’s Politecnico Di Milano.

“In society, well-thought-out design solutions can address challenges, foster innovation, and create a sense of community. I believe that good design has the ability to uplift spirits, inspire creativity, and contribute positively to the well-being of individuals and communities. Design is a testimony of its time, and showcases the interests and tastes of a specific time and place.”

Something of a multi-talented design genius, Tassiana’s cross-disciplinary knowledge, fresh perspective and her ability to integrate technology into her work are a few key strengths that have effectively set her apart.

Tassiana got her feet wet in the industry by contributing her unique interior design skills to extraordinary design studio, Studio Ange, with whom she worked on the stunning Mandarin Oriental Residences in Beverly Hills, which features a restaurant led by Michelin triple star chef, Daniel Boulud, and Royal Fromentin.

She followed up her work with Studio Ange with several high profile projects for Doctor G and My Exclusive Collection before joining the award-winning design team at Kelly Wearstler where she contributed to the design of the Ulla Johnson luxury fashion store in Los Angeles, as well as several other diverse projects that include residential and hospitality interior design, as well as product design.

“Tassiana’s success is rooted in her ability to seamlessly blend artistic ingenuity with a strategic mindset. She has an innate talent for understanding not just the visual aspect of design but also its broader implications on brand identity and user experience,” explains Kelly Wearstler Creative Director Alex Kotov.

With a brilliant mind and eye for design, and an impressive understanding of the vital role it not only plays in various areas of our lives, but its invaluable contribution to brand identity, she has effectively managed to expand the scope of her work to include much more than interior design alone.

Over the years her boundless creativity and astute attention to detail has also led her to be a key figure in helping define and launch the identity of brands, like My Exclusive Collection, and leave a lasting impression on their customers.

At the tail end of 2020 she was called in to help My Exclusive Collection create the image that would represent them to the world. A perfume library of fragrances created by iconic perfumer Jean-Paul Guerlain, My Exclusive Collection was looking to establish their identity as a French Haute Parfumerie marked by a rich olfactory heritage of class and elegance– and Tassiana was the perfect designer to take on the project.

As the creative director on the project she was tasked with designing the perfumerie’s bottle, logo, as well as heading the website design and social media content. Drawing inspiration from Guerlain’s legacy, Tassiana looked to the famous perfumer’s memories, history and permanent quest for excellence for inspiration, and the end result was nothing short of stunning. Not only did she manage to effectively differentiate My Exclusive Collection from more trend-based brands, but she endowed them with a strong and unforgettable image in the public eye.

“Her ability to infuse her creativity into every element of her work has distinguished our brand and has left a lasting impression on our customers. Tassiana’s unique creative perspective brought a level of sophistication and originality to our company which has distinguished us in an extremely competitive and saturated visual market,” explains Fabrice Parsy, CEO of My Executive Collection.

“Her leadership as Creative Director has not only brought out the best in our design team, but has also fostered a culture of innovation and collaboration. The passion Tassiana has for her craft was contagious, inspiring those around her to push boundaries and explore new possibilities.”

Over the years Tassiana has gained great international praise, including magazines such as Elle Romania featuring her work for My Exclusive Collection, and her work for Doctor G, an Italian skincare brand for which she led the brand identity and creative direction, being featured in the beauty edition of Vogue Mexico.

“My skill set is shaped by my diverse experiences in interior design and art direction across France, Italy, and the United States. This international exposure has allowed me to blend cultural influences seamlessly into my designs, creating spaces that resonate with a global audience. My ability to adapt and innovate is complemented by a strong foundation in design principles, coupled with a keen understanding of the latest trends and technologies in the field.”

Born in Paris, but having grown up in London, Tassiana’s love for art developed at a young age. As a child, through frequent trips to museums and various field trips that exposed her to art and architecture, she became fascinated by the rich cultural histories of art, design and mythology of Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome and Ancient Egypt. Tassiana’s grandmother, who was passionate about antiquing and frequently shared the stories behind her unique pieces with her young grandchild, also proved to be a great influence on the designer’s strong affinity for interiors.

Over the course of her evolution thus far, Tassiana developed the personal motto ‘Innovate with Purpose, Design with Soul,’ something that she continues to stick by and clearly resonates throughout her body of work.

“The ability to shape environments that evoke emotions, tell stories, and meet the functional needs of individuals is incredibly fulfilling. Design is not just a profession for me; it’s a means of expression, a way to contribute to the world, and a constant journey of exploration and self-discovery. The joy of seeing my creations come to life and the positive impact they have on people’s lives motivate me every day.”

While her widespread skills in design and technology coupled with her creative imagination and collaborative spirit have allowed her to apply her talents to a diverse range of projects, not to mention being a polyglot who speaks French, English, Spanish and Italian– something that allows her to seamlessly work with international clientele– there’s no doubt that her heart beats fastest for interior design, and it shows in her work.

For the Ulla Johnson project at Kelly Wearstler, Tassiana was key in assisting the styling of the interior of the designer’s Los Angeles flagship store, which included reupholstering pieces and handling the FF&E sourcing, which included some spectacular vintage pieces, and helping to oversee the installation. The end result- a super fun twist on a traditional retail space, which included the contribution of numerous local artists and craftsmen to bring out the uniqueness of the space.

“Tassiana possesses a rare combination of artistic flair and strategic thinking that set her apart in our creative team. Her ability to seamlessly merge aesthetics with functionality brought a distinctive quality to our projects,” explains Kelly Wearstler Creative Director Alex Kotov. “Tassiana’s keen eye for detail and an innate understanding of design principles allowed her to add a layer of sophistication and creativity that few others could replicate.”

In a relatively short amount of time Tassiana Laurre has made an indelible mark on the world of design, and she is one creative that aspiring designers can look to for inspiration and guidance.

It’s key to always be curious about the new processes and tools available in our field… Don’t be afraid of AI either, explore what it can do as it’s a super easy tool to learn and it’s great for research. I think it’s the designers that are afraid of change and innovation who are at risk,” explains Tassiana.

“Staying curious and trying new things are always important to integrate to a project. What new materials are out there? How can you add them to one of your projects? What combination of colours or textures haven’t you tried yet? As designers it’s good to have individual aesthetic styles, but staying in our comfort zone can lead to redundancy and lack of creativity, it’s good to push our own boundaries regularly.”

In 2018 Tassiana founded her own design studio, Laurre Studio of Design, through which she handled the jobs for My Exclusive Collection and Doctor G. She is also currently nearing completion on a residential project on the Côte d’Azur through her studio, which she says, ‘is going to be a really lovely Mediterranean apartment filled with light and materiality evocative of the French Riviera, and the simplicity and joie de vivre of that region.’ In addition, this talented designer is also gearing up to open an international design consultancy firm, which aims to advise people who don’t want to take on full interior design projects, but want to enhance their current living space, and don’t know where to begin.
